It's taken me days to get that song out of my head since you rick rolled me the other day.

What's worse is that I hadn't heard of it until you did it to me. And then Frances comes over that night for a sleepover and she rick rolls me with that Flickr photo link I gave you. But she did pay for it. We sat in the study each on our own computers -- her coding and me blogging. Meanwhile I sung over and over and over Never Gonna Give You Up.

Now I've got a new twist to payrolling. My son's friends mum is a teacher and we got talking yesterday. I told her a bit about how I use technology (very little actually as I didn't want to freak her out) but did offer to help her with little things. Told her if she lost my email to Google my name.

She got all excited and came across my wiki. Started reading my wiki and watched Pay Attention that I have on the site. She absolutely loved it. Extra bonus points were awarded to me for knowing you :)

Sue Waters
Mobile Technology in TAFESue Watershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13230898483382609377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293651735518246988.post-61003991660278260102008-04-24T08:35:00.000-06:002008-04-24T08:35:00.000-06:00While this post was written 85% in jest, I think t...While this post was written 85% in jest, I think that you two are correct: the teachers that need to be payrolled are the teachers that simply refuse to listen (and likely those that will view such an attempt at humor to be offensive).Darren Draperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17578208859042859340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293651735518246988.post-4915504180975681222008-04-23T22:47:00.000-06:002008-04-23T22:47:00.000-06:00I sent out an email this week saying my students h...I sent out an email this week saying my students had found a great picture that they thought would be incredible up on desktop backgrounds of the teachers that had SmartBoards and projectors. I even told them that the person who took the picture was sharing it under a Creative Commons license and that teachers could use it in presentations or even print it out and put it up on their walls. I then left a link to creative commons licensing.

The picture was one I had taken of a trophy my class received that day for getting the most ribbons during field day. Most of the teachers knew it was a joke and thought it was funny. One did not receive it as well, but he's been talking behind everyone's back all year, so I'm not surprised. Now he's telling people that he knows will talk to me that he's going to go to the admins with a bunch of things he thinks I"m doing wrong. This should make the last 5 weeks of school just pleasant.. hahaJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08471611669070066030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293651735518246988.post-31314743483339986022008-04-23T14:50:00.000-06:002008-04-23T14:50:00.000-06:00I jsut watched the video and thought pretty seriou...I jsut watched the video and thought pretty seriously what would happen to me if I sent thisout to people...the people who need it. The rickrolling is acceptable in that it turns out to be funny. Your payrolling, in the eyes of the teachers I envision sending it to, would be offensive. Those would be sparring words. So who would this be better intended for, those who are on the virge of embracing technology, have dabbled a little, but hesitate to move into it completely, or those who are as removed from it as far as they have been able to get.

funny how they'll sit down to it everyday, check email, news, etc. But can't correlate that they do not let their students sit in front of it. Or if they do, even once, they tote that like a prize.Mr. Kimmihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13846178676356266417noreply@blogger.com
