Now, I know I've taught at least 50 teachers about blogging - and every one of them have blogged (at least during my classes) - but not many continue the practice. I think their experience is much like the experiences you've had with your students:

Unless they find value in the conversation (or unless their blogs enable conversation) they see little purpose in continuing.

It's refreshing to see the kinds of social software you've been using with your students! I appreciate your willingness to share and wish you luck in future efforts! Please let me know if you'd like any help.

@Patrick - You're right: I have been a slacker! :) In fact, Jethro's comment has spurred my memory that I have another goal to accomplish in the near future. I'd like to maintain a list of the bloggers in my district. I'll get on it within the next week.

Happy new year to both of you!Darren Draperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17578208859042859340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293651735518246988.post-57996641948117214902008-01-01T07:31:00.000-07:002008-01-01T07:31:00.000-07:00Darren,Best of luck on following through with this...Darren,

Best of luck on following through with this plan. Without hesitation, I can truly say: get to it, slacker.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08156784418545421424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293651735518246988.post-62015620599101603192007-12-31T09:12:00.000-07:002007-12-31T09:12:00.000-07:00Darren,I teach at FHMS, and I am glad to finally f...Darren,

I teach at FHMS, and I am glad to finally find another edublogger in my district. I have been searching for a long time to find someone else out here, but it seems they are few and far between.

I look forward to using technology more this year. Last year, we did a class blog, but the students only seemed interested in the design of it. This year, my students made a wiki, and did some other neat stuff. I hope that it will be a good last half of the year.jethrojoneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14065159896166632977noreply@blogger.com
